BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:The Deputy Director is responsible for assisting the Director of Family Support and Gender Affairs Department in providing administrative and technical supervision across all district offices within the Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous People’s Affairs. This role involves coordinating, developing, and implementing programs and projects that enhance the effective delivery of services across Family Support Services, the Gender Integration Unit, the Economic Empowerment Unit, BOOST Services, the Disabilities Desk, and Elderly Programs.NATURE AND SCOPE:The Deputy Director within the Family Support and Gender Affairs Department, under the Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous People’s Affairs, plays a key role in steering the strategic direction and operational objectives of the department. This department encompasses Family Support Services, the Gender Integration Unit, the Economic Empowerment Unit, BOOST Services, the Disabilities Desk, and Elderly Programs. The Deputy Director is responsible for ensuring that these units operate in alignment with the department's strategic goals, particularly within the district offices.The incumbent will contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery by fostering a comprehensive system of care that upholds the rights of clients. This includes managing a range of support services focused on economic empowerment, gender integration, and assistance for individuals with disabilities and the elderly.Additionally, the Deputy Director must possess a thorough understanding of the relevant policies and legislation guiding the department's operations. The role requires close coordination with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the department’s mandate. The Deputy Director also advises the Director on key issues related to service delivery within the department’s various units across the districts.
